Prince William and Kate in Ghana |
"I was very pleased to hear Prince William say that he acknowledged that slavery was wrong and that the British government, the British people, have some responsibility in that piece of unforgettable history...'But tonight, I want to say to Prince William, having said that, I believe you. But I will believe you more if you do what you must now do, which is the offer of some reparation to the people who were wronged in the way that you have acknowledged'." Read more in NewsWeek.
Words are simply not enough! Those of Diaspora has heard empty promise after promise. They have seen Bills pass that were just as empty as the apologies that were made and words spoken by those in position to do something. The procrastination of and the outright blatant refusal of the European Colonies to pay reparations to the descendants of those they forced into slavery and enslaved has been parroted for years.
Europe, the United States and South America; all of who has acknowledged their wrongs and injustices for the murdering, raping and pilfering of Africa and those of Diaspora within their colonies has apologized and spoken empty words. They have passed bill after bill only to change the face of slavery that still exists today. The reality is that Africa is under colonial control and some French speaking countries in Africa even pay taxes for their so-called freedoms.
Slavery still exists in parts of Africa, China and Australia. In Europe and the US, slavery is not as overt. The raping of Africa's rich resources, paying and encouraging Africa's greedy, less than honorables leaders; dangling that proverbial carrot is a constant reminder that the world wants to keep the Dark Continent dark as they secretly infiltrate African countries, stealing their rich resources; controlling their economy and keeping modern technology from it.
How, is slavery still an issue in 2022 you ask? Not only are there unspoken laws: Law of Exclusion and Color of Law; Industrialized Slavery and Institutional Racism are merely two categories of the change of the faces of slavery. Of course the Depopulation Agenda has been a threat to those of African Diaspora since the Nixon Administration and National Security Advisor, Henry Kissinger. The act of racism and the actions of a raciest society has never stopped. In fact slavery never ended it was merely buried in a jungle of racist propaganda! It was not so long ago that slave owners got reparations for loosing their slaves only to re enslave them to work their plantations! I am a product of slavery and I am still here to inform of and feel the devastating effects that it has had on generations of our people. So, "Just forget it and move on", a phrase often used by Europeans who bury their heads in the sand while enjoying the benefits of those of whom they got free labor, issued IOU's to and keep in bondage through a racist System; is not a viable excuse at all.
For over 400 years, Descendants of the slave trades has suffered mental, physical, social and financial traumas of which has never been addressed. The injustices and enslavement's perpetuated against those of Diaspora has being camouflaged with the passing of worthless Bills and a Constitution that supports a racist government. The migration, immigration of other races; the advancement of White women; LGBTQ has been a detour to the non-fulfillment of obligations towards those of Diaspora. In addition to outstanding IOU's and bad checks to those of Diaspora that has set People of Color/BIPOC back with each wave.
It is happening again.
According to US news, the US is accepting 100,000 Ukraine immigrants; sending millions of our tax dollars to aid them and free them from their so called injustices. Yet, there are unseen faces of over 20,000 "Blacks" of academia, university students and professionals being made to go to the back of the line. The US and the world have displayed no empathy or compassion at all for those of Diaspora only meaningless apologies.
Nearly 200 years to late, the Till Family receives perhaps some justice with the "Emmett Till Antilynching Act Passed House with Overwhelming Bipartisan Support". Personally, I could not imagine the contents within such a Bill nor how it would help to surmount the racial inequalities so dominate in the US or other racist countries of the world. Murder by Badge merely replaced the brutalities of lynch mobs, prompting an increase in hate crimes among KKK, Skin Heads and other raciest groups. I have problems wrapping my head around their blatant refusal to follow through with something that should have never been. The refusal to make restitution and pay reparations for those enslaved; descendants of the enslaved and all of the injustices legally enforced upon those of Diaspora. Those injustices only serves to validate hatred, exclusion and racial injustices against those of Diaspora, BIPOC, Descendants of African Ancestors forced into slavery.
I maintain, "Restitution must be made: Reparations must be paid. Torah commands it the Bible demands it.
