Sorry Mama, but you told
Forrest a half Truth! Forrest Gump, a 1994
Academy Award Winning classic movie Directed by Robert Zemeckis with Sally Field
playing Mama and we certainly must give kudos to Bubba played by Mykelti
Williamson. The words, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get”
became the buzz for that year and years to come.
A great encouragement for a season in one’s life to handle the discouragements and limitations of one’s circumstances. That quote and movie made famous by one of my favorite actors, Tom Hanks, who played the character Forrest Gump, has rolled off the lips of many who are and have experienced the pitfalls that we encounter in life.
The tenor of the saying, “Life
is like a box of chocolates. You never
know what you’re going to get” not only created and reinforced a mindset but a
consciousness to accept situations as they are making the best of them; that
mankind is not in control of their life situations; that whatever life dishes out
to us is what we have to deal with becoming our ‘lot in life’. We may not be
able to change our physical appearance; however, mankind has been given ability
and capacity to change their life’s circumstances.
Within the mind and heart of
man lies an inherent Infinite Power to change and create positive conditions in
our lives. We merely have to acknowledge
‘It’ then harness that Creative Power to work on our behalf. The only way that we can do that is to change
our perception of how we see G-D, the Universe, and the Earth that surrounds us
and ourselves.
We must take limitations
off of G-D and us! We must break down
the dysfunctional walls of religion, false/erroneous teachings and traditions in
order to allow our mind to be ‘primaled’ of these impediments that keep our thought process from being renewed! Or, we must empty our mind of all the false
and negative perceptions and concepts of limitations, which many of us has
become acclimated to.
We must remove the
blinders from the eyes of our mind! In other
words, we must renew our hearts and minds and put on the mind of a Christ. We must embrace the Christ Principles not
regulate Christ to a man of thousands of years ago but firmly grasp, embrace
and receive the concepts; the Principles; the Plan that the Christman brought
and left with us!
We must tap into that Divine
Universal Power within our minds. Catch the Vision!
